This is a great addition to the coop and is only losing one star because it requires absolutely no debris to be in the frame to close the door which is difficult considering the chickens scratch around in the coop.This product works like a should. We do the Time to Time program on our chicken coop. It works perfectly every time. Just got to make sure the door is clear of any wood chips or hay. The Only reason I did not give it five stars was because the remote does not work. The first one the sensor did not work and the door didn't stop going up and it kept turning but the customer service was great replaced it however On both products neither remote worked. I just order 3v batteries hopefully it's just a dead battery but we'll see. Other than that it works like it's supposed toBattery has no case cover.The first one I received would not stay closed or open. Kept try to move. Second one I received wouldn’t stop moving. I discovered that a sensor with adhesive backing wasn’t attached. After a little trial and error I got it to operate as it should. We went on a weeks long vacation shortly after getting it and it opened and closed every time.Credit to hipykat to sending a replacement promptly.First unit-door would unexpectedly close. Returned no problem. Next unit worked fine for about 3 weeks. Checked unit in the evening, door would not close. Door was trying to close but going up and down. Upon checking inside the main unit, the wiring had come loose and was caught in the door gearing. I pushed the wire out of the way and it started working as it should. Next day I added additional tape to the wiring in an attempt to keep the unit working. Not impressed so far.Well worth every penny of the cost. No more walking out in the cold, dark or rain to shut the chickens up in their coop after dark.The opening in reality is about 12 inches not the full 15.5 as advertised. The instructions could be clearer as far as settingsHipykat responded to my issue with the 1st door right away and sent me a replacement which arrived in secure packaging. The instructions are completed and easy to follow. The system turned on once batteries were installed and easy to program. We installed the door over the original opening with no problems, very easy. The door operates as it indicates with no issues so far. Hipykat customer service was excellent.
