I just bought my third Timex Expedition digital. They last around 7 to 10 years on my wrist before they look so thrashed that I just replace the whole watch before the battery gives out. After years of satisfied use, here are my recommendations:Casio G-Shocks (and similar Casio types) are great, but a Timex Expedition/Ironman has a MUCH easier to read display and is MUCH easier to setup/program and use the features. Maybe others will disagree but Timex's setup/ programming/use just makes a lot more intuitive sense to me. The (somewhat) easy to follow instruction are linked from the Amazon page.If you're into any kind of water sports, and particularly surfing or snorkeling (ie sandy surf activities), get a model with a Velcro band. Nothing is as comfortable, versatile and works as well in the water as Velcro! The Timex Indiglo backlight feature is simply awesome. It's just way better than Casio's backlights. I prefer the Timex Expedition, rather than the Ironman because I like the big center button to be the Indiglo light rather than the Start/Split button that I rarely use.
