I am working with a drum smoker...It may not have an "up and down" ambient temperature range alarm for serious smoking, but I can't camplain for 15 bucks with 4 probes and a reliable remote. It was a good cook with these temp probes and alarms while I was watching TV. I enjoy having these temp probes. One of the 4 roasts ended up less cooked, but it could be because of the bones. Can’t complain, for $17, to have not only a wireless functionality, but 4 probes, and temp curve detection it’s a steal of a deal. Have used the probes each a few dozen times with no issuesBrisket cookNot particularly intuitive, it’s a nice bit of kit for the money. Used tonight for the first time and it worked to perfection. Hate to complain about the very nice but maybe over engineered probes but they are a little long.I’ve used exactly once so I have no opinion on longevity but the whole thing has a quality feel. Can’t go wrong for $18, highly recommend.Wanted it for steaks in grill but too complicated to understand how to use!!Don't buy this one. Find one with a company name you can pronounce. This is cheap junk. This should only cost $10. It randomly beeps. The temp is off by 5 to 10 degrees. It randomly has an alarm that beeps. The features are not intuitive to use. Why is it still beeping? The screen is not easily readable, you have to be at a certain angle. It's beeping again. And why does an alarm keep beeping every few minutes on the bigger display unit? The beeping is driving me insane.
