It was so tall I couldn't fit it underneath my outside hydrant had to return it I wasn't digging a hole to use itSimple setup!I set it up to water once a night for half an hour at 5 AM but it appears to have decided to water every 20 hours which it does reliably.I purchased this water timer because we were going on vacation for a week. It was very hot and there was no rain in sight. Thanks to this sprinkler, when we returned home our grass was green and plush. The interface is nice and user friendly. Like the product. We bought this as we needed to have the sprinkler run during times of the day when we weren't home. We programmed it to turn on at night while we were home just to make sure it worked okay. It turned on at the right time, but it never turned off. It just kept going. We sent it back because it didn't serve the purpose we needed. The battery compartment fills with water and renders this useless!I installed this before a 2 week vacation with drip irrigation so my garden wouldn’t die. It was a bit confusing to set up but after a few hours and some trials I figured it out. Ran it the night before I left and it worked like a charm. When I got back from my trip all my plants were dead and the display was blank. When I opened the battery compartment to inspect, a ton of water poured out. The batteries were completely submerged and water poured out of the display as well. Reading other reviews now I see I’m not alone in this issue. Please Don’t buy this!I was very disappointed with this product. I’ll start with the highs: it was easy to set up, it had a child lock, it had all of the other features I was looking for. The battery compartment seemed well sealed. But none of that matters because of the low: the clock ran extra fast. I took out the batteries and reset it many times. But ultimately when the clock is counting minutes every 10-20 seconds instead of 60 seconds, my water timer was going off hours before I had it set, and then not running for the full time I set it for. It’s possible I had a defective timer but I didn’t want to take a chance that it’d happen again.Utilizzato quest'estate quando non era a casa e ha funzionato alla grande. Bel display e facile nella programmazioneLe programmateur n’est pas étanche, il a pris l’eau et ne fonctionne plus, ceci après seulement 6 semaines d’utilisation.I ordered this hose timer before the hose pipe ban! But I managed to review it before it came into being, and it will come I’m handy for next summer. It will be particularly useful for when we’re away on holiday so I can do away with watering globes and the like. The unit seems well made and needs two AA batteries installed to work, and these are not supplied. It is a bit tricky to set up, which you need to do to use all the timing functions. To set up you need to input the year, date, time and how you want the timer to function for you. It’s reasonably user friendly if a little long winded. For example, if you need to change the time you can’t just go to that part of the settings you have to go through the date etc. and to do this you press the button twice, then once, then twice and this is the sequence all the way through. Once you are in the swing of it, it is ok if a little time consuming.I set it up and took it to attach to my outside tap. I have a brass tap I have included a photo of it in my review so you can compare with your own. I have a brass tap with a Y splitter fitted, and it fits perfectly well in this Y fitment and doesn’t need to be only attached to the tap alone. It did leak a little on fitting, but this was sorted by using PTFE tape. The timer worked fine when tested, so hopefully when it can be used again after the hosepipe ban it will cont8 us to work equally well, though note that some reviewers have had issues with the control. Overall it’s four stars from me.
