This is great! I bought it for while we were away and decided to leave it in place!!Easy to setup just pick if you want to have fish feed every 12 hours or one time for the whole day just wish the amount release was a bit easier to tell how much was going to come out and not just having to trial-and-error till you find how much is coming out from the slide bar.Bought this for a weekend away to feed my goldfish, I tried a few different types and settled on this one due to the flexibility of types of fish food it can handle and the mounting system. The only thing that I had to fiddle with was the way to set the timing, and this could be my lack of understanding. Overall, the fish were alive and content when I returned and that is all that mattersThese feeders keep life simple and the fish happy. They work well and have sturdy clips, which has been an issue with other products. I have not knocked them into the water a single time! The only downside is that I have not found a way to offset the feeders so that with 2 of them, I can feed every 6 hours. These automatically start at "0" time and then feed at 12 or 24 hours. Even with this, I am extremely happy with the product and will purchase it again when I expand to another tank.I like it for the first few months, but it stopped working properly as before. With the set It continued to spin dispersing the fish food over and over again and I could not stop it from spinning until I removed the batteries I think I prefer one with a on and off switch for the next one.I used this for a trip recently and it worked great. There’s an option on the back to dispense food at 12 or 24 hours, so there’s no specific time to set. If you pop the batteries in at 6pm and fill it, it will go off again at 6am (if set for 12 hours). I have a standard 10 gallon tank and I put it in the cutout I usually use for the heater. I used flakes and was worried that it would just create a mess but it worked well. It’s a simple, easy to use feeder. This Auto Feeder's timer is set when you first insert the batteries into it.The button on the back is for manual feeding. The switch on the back is for feeding every 12h or every 24h.This feeder will require some modifications to make it dispense the proper amount of food, because it will either dump way too much food or very little.Remove the Clear food cover then slide out the food adjustment door (see pics). It slides right out when you pull on the round knob. After removing the door, you'll notice a flap (door) section. Take a small file or a sharp knife and cut 2 or 3 SMALL notches in the Flap (door) to let the food slide thru (see pics). Slide the Door back into place.Load up some food and push the manual feed button to test and see if it is dispensing the proper amount of food. If it is too little, make your notches a little bigger. Repeat procedure until it dispenses the proper amount of food.I can now keep the adjuster door setting on the second to the lowest setting and it dispenses the perfect amount of granular food :)Would be great if you have multiple large fish, however, I do not. I have 1 betta per tank. The lower two settings put out no food, however, the middle setting, notch number 3, put out enough food for a whole week.I bought two and will be returning both of them.
