The timer is bigger and chunkier than I expected, but that makes it better for may purpose, which was to give my 3-year-old a 30-second timer for various tasks. He loves getting to turn it over, and watching the sand fall through.Seems pretty durable so far, since my son hasn’t been able to disassemble it in any way.My only complaint is that while the image shows a timer with a printed label indicating that it’s a 30-second timer, I received one with a sloppily handwritten label. I guess I’ll just peel that off and print my own.Little smaller then I thought, but love it, added it to my collectionThey are glass in the middle (not the tops, which are plastic), so a chance of breakage with no issues yet, but we tested all twice and here are the times we go for each:1 min: 53s, 53s3 min: 2:58, 3:035 min: 4:42, 4:4610 min: 9:35, 9:4215 min: 15:02, 14:5530 min: 29:54, 30:07Interesting that the longer ones seem more accurate. I recommend at least one test for each hourglass to get an estimate of their real time if desired.10% of 60 seconds is 6 seconds and I am clocking it being off by around 5 or 6 seconds. So it empties of sand after 55 seconds when it should be at 60 seconds.Durable and niceLove this timer! Makes brushing a game.Only off by 5 seconds.I used it for my CDL brake test.I hold the service brake for one minute. My tester laughed and thought it was the coolest timer anyone ever used for the leak down test.So I like having this hour on my desk. It’s a pretty cool desktop accessory. Pretty nice for the price as well. Haven’t tested durability of this item but my kids have gotten a hold of it. It still works. There is one thing that doesn’t happen all the time. For some reason it stops somewhere in the hour. Just gotta knock the sand loose and it’s back on track. If you’re looking for novelty this is it. You want something more appealing to the eye and sturdy as a rock, keep searching and spend more. This is still a good item for what it’s worth.
