We were looking for a timer that would allow programming for different standard time times such as a 4 minute presentation with a 1 minute follow up question period. Then we needed different pre-programmed times for breaks (5, 10, 15 minutes). Also needed a solution that didn't require touching the display so it could placed in a common location that can be easily seen by everyone in the room. The 100% remote control (there is no power button on the unit) works well for this and also removes any reason for the operator of the unit to use a phone during the meeting to control the timer. Adjustable brightness is great and works well, as does the adjustable buzzer level. The built in clock is useful for ensuring people do not pick up their phones to "check the time" to really check their messages. I do wish the clock showed seconds but it does not - it does show 12 or 24 hour time. Additionally, we didn't want a unit that required external power or a power bank and the built in battery meets that requirement and can be recharged via the included USB C cable. While the meeting rooms we use don't generally have metal to use the magnet, the base is flat so we can put it on the window sill or table.
