We bought this for our 3 little girls, aged 2, 4, and 6. Our oldest and second oldest have their own room, but have trouble falling asleep at night, because they are afraid of the dark. We've tried other night lights before, but they didn't quite work, and they still wake up 3 or 4 times a night, which makes for a very busy night for me and my husband. This one is working very well so far, probably because it's not a boring light like the others, and it's also brighter, but not so bright to keep them awake. It's just the right brightness. As soon as I turned it on, they got very excited and started jumping around. Okay, that's probably not very conducive to sleeping, but they loved it! We kept the light on all night, and they both slept through the night, which hasn't happened in a LONG time. The night sky that it projects onto the ceiling is also quite pretty. It's not monotonous like you would expect, but actually changes and twinkles. You can also switch between multiple night skies. It also has a battery built in, which is great, because I don't want to keep it plugged in all the time and want to move it around so the light is not directly in your eyes. The light coverage is actually pretty good and covers the whole ceiling and then some. It's very soothing and calming; I guess you could probably also use it for meditations, but I would recommend doing that outside of your kids' bedroom, LOL! Anyway, so far we love it, and the kids love it. Maybe it'll get them interested in astronomy or something; I think my husbands wants to teach them. And oh, this actually makes bedtime stories nicer, too. Our smallest one likes it, too, but she sees it more as a toy than anything. We will all like it even more when she moves in with her sisters ;-)
