These little candles are exactly what I was looking for and the flickering feature gives an almost realistic look. BUT they are extremely fragile. One candle was broken when I opened the box- the wire holding the flame was broken & when I lifted another off the charging base the candle came apart with the base staying attached to the charger. So only 4 of the 6 candles work. I have only been using the remaining candle a few days but so far the remote seems to work fine and the charge lasts for several hours.The batteries in all six candles were dead when I got them. I had to buy new batteries which made the candles not worth the purchase price.I researched every tea light candle on Amazon and finally chose these. I’m happy with these but somehow I missed the detail that you have to use the remote to turn them on/off. There’s no manual switch. Not a huge deal I’m just really hoping I don’t misplace the remote...Also, the red light that’s supposed to go off to show they’re fully charged- it just stays on. Again not a big deal but FYI that function might not work.How “real” do they look? Well, they totally fooled my 6 year old stepson. (I held my hand over the “flame” and I had him thinking I was a wizard for like a full minute- “How can you touch the fire?!!!”). His dad said they “look good”. I think he’s just stoked to not have open flames in the house with a young child. Me too!!That said I’m more picky and I like real candles and these do not fool me. I do like them and I’m keeping them because they’re safer. They look believable enough in candle holders that obscure the moving flame so that only the flickering effect can be seen. I do like the flickering but it’s a little too regular or mechanic to be “real”; but again if you’re not focusing on it or looking too closely it’s fine.End if the day if I forget to turn these off they won’t burn down the house and since they’re rechargeable I don’t have to buy watch batteries when the batteries die. These are a win!THESE ARE BEAUTIFUL THE MOVING FLAMES ARE BRIGHT AND REALISTIC .A BIT COMPLICATED,THERE IS NO ON OFF SWITCH ON EACH CANDLE SO I CANT TELL WHAT MODE THEY ARE IN WHEN PLACING THEM ON THE CHARGER .THE BATTERIES ARE NOT REMOVABLE BUT SHOULD BE REMOVEABLE/REPLACABLE AS THE CHARGING BASE COULD DOUBLE AS A USEFUL BATTERY CHARGER FOR THESE UNCOMMON BATTERIES .THERE IS A RED LIGHT INSIDE EACH CANDLE TO VERIFY IF CORRECTLY CONNECTED TO THE AKWARD CHARGING BASE,WHICH TURN OFF WHEN FULLY CHARGED. THERE IS ALSO ONE BRIGHT LIGHT ON THE CHARGING BASE THAT INDICATES CHARGING MODES .YOU MUST HOLD DOWN THE REMOTE FOR A FEW SECONDS OR CLICK MULTIPLE TIMES TO CHANGE BRIGHTNESS AND FLICKER MODES,IT TAKES SOME GETTING USED TO ,BUT YOU WILL GET USED TO IT. THEYRE A TAD FUSSY BUT IF YOUR PATIENT =THE BEAUTY AND VERSATALITY AND NEVER HAVING DEAD BATTERIES MAKE THIS A RECOMMENDED BUYVery pretty, but only last overnight so you’re constantly switching out each set.
