The Honohil thermometer works great and is pretty straight forward to use, I like the preset temperature settings, you can use the preset temperatures based on the meat of your choice or adjust to your own desired temperature. And the on/off button was on side edge for easy access when using the magnetic quality on the stove. It worked great and as described, the product gives you the option to choose either your meat and doneness level as well as setting your own custom temperature level for what you are trying to cook, and the display on this unit is clear and easy to read with large numbers.I use it after my meat comes out of the slow cooker or instapot. It’s nice to be confident it’s cooked all the way through. The product turned on, but no matter how I depressed the various buttons, the screen never changed. (I read and followed the instructions). Second, they report that there is a protective film on the screen. It was impossible to get at the film. I used a pointy object and began working on the film. It did not peel off. It chipped off.I will be requesting a refund.CurtAfter two uses it just started beeping all the time and said on the screen either “hhh” or “LLL”. Nothing in the manual do explain this. DO NOT BUYThis meat thermometer has some good features ... like being able to stick the probe into food that is still inside the over or grill and get a reading on the base, which remains outside the oven or grill ... but I'm not sure if the temperature readings are accurate.I have another meat thermometer I have been using for a long time, and I got this new one because the old one was starting to fail. But I have been cooking certain meats regularly, like salmon and turkey, and the cooking instructions say "cook at 400 degrees for 10 minutes or until the meat is 160 degrees," etc. So after 10 minutes at 400 degrees, I fully expected the new thermometer to read out at something around 160 degrees. Instead, it said the meat was 78 degrees, which obviously was wrong.Since then, the new thermometer seems a little more accurate, but it always seems to show somewhat lower temps than I expect. The price is reasonable and the design seems helpful, and when it gives me a temp that seems accurate, it's fine, but I'm not sure it will be reliable. This work really well and quickly. This has photos to choose from for the type of meat you’re cooking. The probe is nice, I like that this has an option to stand or use the magnets, but the magnet isn’t very strong. I do wish that this had an option like other meat thermometers where you could use an attached probe or the extended one.It works but it does occasionally lose connection and you have to unplug it and plug it back in. Not a huge deal unless it gets worse.
