I was not successful in getting the new transmitter to work, but the remote worked with my old transmitter. Unfortunately, my old transmitter does not have as many functions. That said, I'm just happy that I can once again use my fireplace logs.Received product August 25, 2022 and surprised at how cheap it looks. The remote and receiver together look like a $19.99 set. Unimpressed.Hand-held remote is small for a woman’s hand. And receiver box is extremely low quality.I will be returning this and searching for a better quality set. Really shocked at the price company charged for this. It truly looks like a $19.99 product. Glad Amazon has a good return policy. So glad we could get just the remote as a replacement and not the whole package. It paired on the first try and we had our fireplace back. The package was delivered as promised. Thank you.Very easy to install. Not exactly like the one we replaced, but works well. The Remote is the same as the one that came with our Fireplace, and the control box looks the same. I'll know more after I install and test it. Right now the existing unit, currently installed, seems to 'know' it's replacement has arrived, so it's working fine. :)Bought this remote control for a 12 year old fireplace insert. It was easy to install and works flawlessly. Only minor complaint is that the included batteries were so old they were dead. This solved the problem that I was having with my servo controlled fireplace. In retrospect, the system with the timer function might have been better choice than the thermostat function, as we use the fireplace for ambiance, rather than primary heat source. This listing comes with both the remote and the controller, although the picture shows only the remote. I am glad I bought this unit, as the other listing that has both controller and remote in the picture is more expensive and has lesser functionality remote. I suspect most people did not want to take the chance to buy this, which appeared to be selling the remote only.Since I got BOTH, I decided to replace my controller as well instead of trying to program the new remote to the existing controller. Swapped the terminal wires on the controller end (as that was much simpler) in about 5 minutes and it worked! This is quite a fancy to have a remote fireplace. Interestingly I did not even realize I had one (bought the house the past summer) until I recently started poking around to get my fireplace going this winter. For the benefit of others who are new to remote fire place, you leave the gas valve on for the season. The controller takes care of opening and closing the gas valve as required. I was skeptical about leaving the gas valve open and kept sniffing the fireplace to be sure! The previous owner had not closed the valve for the season so my valve has been on since I got the house. DISCLAIMER: Leave the gas valve on at your own risk!!!Instead of the manufacturer supplied batteries, used the long lasting Ultimate Lithium batteries so I don't have to mess with batteries for a few years.
