I love the convenience of having remote access to anything I plug into this smart plug. Very easy to pair with the app too.Writing a review because this was basically the only option I could find of a smart plug where a remote was included without *also* needing a smart hub "base" to connect everything together. There aren't instructions on how to set up, so I was a bit confused on how to get the devices connected. For those who purchase, I first connected to the plug using the remote control (while the plug was flashing blue). Then I used the Alexa mobile app (on my iPhone) to add a new device (selecting "Other" brand) and search for the plug (I recall the name of the plug appeared as "first plug" to Alexa). I was able to rename the plug without issue, and successfully execute routines with it - all while using the remote, too. Overall, this was exactly what I was looking for (remote + Alexa + no extra apps) - and at a fantastic price!I had no trouble connecting with Alexa and staying connected. Pros: it’s very inexpensive, has a remote, cheap and easily replaced battery in the remote. Cons: the smart plug makes a clicking noise when toggled on or off, the smart plug has a light on it, and it takes up a little too much space so you might not be able to get two next to each other in an outlet or power strip. It’s the only wireless smart plug that I could find with a remote that doesn’t require a hub.I received my new Ampai Smart Plug today and super easy to install and no configuration needed. Worked right out of the box. The Mini remote truly does work anywhere in my house, the remotes also have great range. If you are already an Alexa user, this may be the best smart plug to get simply because it integrates so easily with Alexa. It's really nice not to have to install another app on my phone for a different brand of smart plug and then link that app to Alexa -- eliminating that extra layer of complexity means one less thing that can go wrong.Of course there are many other functions that can be discovered on the "Aimore" App. All in all, this is an excellent product that I would highly recommend.UpdateThese no longer work with the remote. That’s unfortunate because the remote was the only thing that would control them. The company contacted me 5 times but never to troubleshoot but to refund me IF I removed this negative review. The review stands and it makes me wonder just how many people got the refund after deleting negative feedback?Alexa certainly will discover the device but you will need to initiate the process BUT after it’s discovered it’s also labeled “unresponsive” so it simply won’t work. After three attempts I thought I’d try it with my Smart Life app because I do not want yet another app added to my smart home setup. Smart life will try to add it but it won’t.After checking the reviews here I see another person had the same problem and needed to download the Aimore app to get it to work. Maybe they’re okay with adding another app to their smart home setup but I already have 16 different apps associated with the smart home so this just adds to the confusion. If I had known this was going to be the outcome I would have simply ordered another of the 30 or so other smart plugs that all work with Smart life. For me it’s about properly representing the product and don’t make promises that you can’t keep. These are AMAZING!! I enjoy voice control via Alexa a lot. These outlets are very easy to set up and connect to Alexa. The Aimore app itself is also great. Very easy to use and there’re plenty of cool settings and functions to play with and look up, like the energy monitoring that shows you all details about the power that had been used through each outlet. The quality of these outlets is very good. They are well made and of course, they are worth my money! I would definitely recommend these plugs for anyone who wants to improve their life.Needed a way to switch my lamps on and off. Can't best this for the price! Easy to use and setup!Does not automatically reconnect if router restarts, requiring you to unplug and plug back in any time your router restarts, including power losses. Every other smart home accessory I have automatically reconnects.
