Battery powered timer. Works ok. Can be fragile so don't let little ones play with it.We loved this time especially my daughter. She loved the animals and it really positivity motivated her. It helped her understand the time limits she had. But there was a huge downfall for us that to this day makes her sad...... it's not for a clumsy kid, she needs to bring it with her to time different things throughout her morning. In 6 days it was ruined because she brings it to the bathroom or she spends FOREVER in there. Well in the sink it went on accident and it's battery operated so bye bye timer☹☹ for us the type of timer that has stood up to abuse from a child is the wind up style that is NOT battery operated. SO WISHED this worked but it would be great for adults to use for kids just not kids themselves.This timer is helpful for keeping my 5 year old on task and for making transitions from one activity to another easier.We use it to teach her how to start telling time , 30 min to bed time , 45 min till dinner…. The bed time one we get no no no no … but when it goes off she knows it’s timeThis cute little clock is easy to operate. My kids like naming all the animals. The visual helps them understand elapsed time. The alarm sound is a little surprising. We mistook it for the smoke detector the first time but got accustomed to it! I’d recommend it for parents and teachers alike.It is little pricey that is compared to its size. It is very small(smaller than your hand). It is cute design though. One thing that is bothering me is when you set a minute, it won’t work by some reason. It works okay after 2-3 minutes setting. I don’t figure out why it is. However, it works great as its function except one minute setting.My 4 year old loves being able to know how much time she has left. Has really helped keep the peace in our house.I found this timer very flimsy for the price. The animal silhouettes are also very unclear.
