Generally works fine. Very loud alarm, four channels run at same time, and stands upright. Would prefer volume control, times to save on each channel rather than having to reset each incident where the timer is stopped. Magnet is not strong, dropped off cabinet often. Item broke in about 6 months. Would not purchase again.I was looking for a grill timer, that if it were accidentally left out in the elements, would not be destroyed. This product fits that requirement nicely. It has weathered several storms already. The controls are simple and easy to use. It has an unexpected feature that I came to like. When it counts down to zero, the alarm sounds, and the device immediately begins counting up. In this way, if you miss the alarm you can see how long ago it went off and take appropriate action. There are only two downsides to the product. One is that the alarm is not particularly loud. I cannot hear it inside the house, even with the door open. Two, you cannot reset the timer to the original time limit unless it counts down to zero. Before then, you can pause the timer, or you can reset it to zero, but you can't start it over. As an example as to how this can be annoying, imagine that you were cooking steak at four minutes per side, but decided to take it out 1 minute early. You stop the timer, but then next time you use it, you need to reset it to zero, and then set it to four minutes again.I LOVE this product. I go swimming at the local LA fitness off and on but I have never really been able to stick with it for long, because I get bored and the clock hanging on the wall is too difficult to see. I hate swimming with a wristwatch but this timer is AWESOME!!! I put it at the very end of my lane and viola -- easy intervals.I've been using this product for over a month and have now established a consistent routine of swimming three times a week. I even download workouts from the internet, print them out and put it next to this stop watch at the end of my lane so that I have a variety of workouts. And I have had people stop me to ask where I got this so I proudly tell them to search for the General waterproof timer on Amazon.com This is a GAMECHANGER!The screen size is big enough to clearly read how many seconds rest I've got (even when I'm gasping for breath in between sets with really foggy swim goggles.Note; The product is really water resistant -- I have not put it in the pool and will not put it in the pool but it does get wet placed on the floor at the end of my lane because my flip turns are not without splashes. That being said, this works reliably and hasn't failed on me yet.I absolutely LOVE this timer! So glad I went with the 4-channel Timer than the 2! With 2 kids, needing a timer for time-outs, food on the stove or in the oven, or just simple reminders, its great! So far I've had the need for 3 timers at once (so I may have the need for 4 while cooking holiday dinners and such!). Also, the clock feature is GREAT, very handy, now I don't have to turn around to see the clock, its in a nice convenient place, right on my fridge! The numbers are large, so I don't have to be really close to it to read it, and its SO simple to use! I LOVE that each timer "remembers" the last time that was put in it: push T1 (2, 3, or 4) and the start button to see how many minutes that timer had on it last. If you need to time something for that exact time again, just push start/stop button again, and it starts counting down! No need to enter that same time in again! I saw this dual timer at my father in law's house and LOVED it's simplicity and not huge size, but couldn't find it anywhere! He told me they were @ Radio Shack, but they no longer sold them. So when I read others reviews that said its the same one as Radio Shack used to carry I was sold! Thought it was a little pricey at first, but now, I'm not sorry at all, worth every penny so far! After many years and several different clock/timers, I like this one the best. Four timer/countdown options - plus the clock - allow you to juggle tasks without losing track. I even use it as an alarm clock. I tend to hyper-focus when I work so using this timer allows me to forget about future tasks until the timer goes off. I use it to remind me to make phone calls, to check the washer, to feed the dogs, to take medication, to get ready for appointments, to move from one scheduled task to the next without losing track of time, etc. The main thing is I don't have to clutter my head with time juggling thoughts. Also, since I rely on this clock/timer so much I usually have two -- one for home & one for my purse. Plus, I've been known to lose one periodly and I don't function as well without it.Although there is some learning curve, it's not bad. Use it a while and you forget there was a learning curve. Also, any clock/timer with this many options will have some learning curve and each is unique. The quality of this clock/timer is excellent. The lab where I worked used this type. The one complaint I have with this clock/timer is that when setting a timer or the clock, if you inadvertently go over the number you are setting, there is no "minus" button so you have to start over. That's particularly annoying when your target number is 53 and you go past it.I have used the GT TI388 timer for over 15 years in the lab as a scientist. I have used different ones, of course, but most in long stretches, as long as I was in the same lab. I have never had one break on me. I have accidentally left it in the -20C freezer, and in the 37C incubator, and they still worked and beeped (a good way to discover where you left your timer is when it beeps and you walk int he direction of the beep and open the freezer and find it lying there on the freezer boxes...) Four timers and a clock. Timers can be set to work at the same time and beep differently (comes in handy when you cannot get to the timer to look at it or turn it off, but you always use the same one for the same purpose, so you know by the way it beeps which time is up).I am not working in a lab anymore. So I bought this to use at home. It is perfect for cooking and baking. Also perfect for certain board games that require timers or sand timers or house rules to make sure players take their turn promptly.Got this to use for timed tooth brushing, was expecting it to count down seconds during the very last minute.Despite the pictures shown its not backlit, doesn't have clock or stop watch functionality. It functions fine as a "minute" based timer with BIG digits, used the back clip to clip on to the bathroom mirror, , can't comment on the water resistance though.I use this when I`m in the kitchen and have several things going at once; it works just as well as an industrial T4 timer but with the ability to take it with me wherever I go makes it even better. I`ve had it for over seven months and the same battery is still working even after use every, single, day. It`s awesome.purchased for a manufacturing suite, wasn't suited for the job, wasn't loud enough.Thank you very much, I am very satisfied! Can't set seconds
