I hadn’t even known that there’d been a move away from candles in jack o lanterns to safer, battery powered lights. I don’t normally make a point to review a product in a timely manner, but I’d imagine the demand for these goes down dramatically after 10-31, so times a wastin’…I read reviews of a couple different brands, there was many complaints about those other products just burning through batteries fast - in fact I’d guess that the fact that those lights all came with batteries seems to me an admission of defeat in this dept by those other brands. These lights take (3) AAAs, but they don’t seem to wear out that quickly. I’ve had mine on for four hours for the past 5 nights and there doesn’t seem to be any real depletion. (Personally, I don’t mind buying batteries if they are for a product in which they are used efficiently. These seem to be pretty good afa the batteries lasting longer than those other brands). The timer function is really nice! I first put these lights on and in my pumpkins a few nights ago for the first time, I turned them “on” at around 6:30 pm, and hit the “4 hour” button so they’d turn off at 10:30, without me forgetting to do so before going to bed… What was a great surprise, they come on every night now at 6:30, I don’t need to turn them “on” again. Which I find a very nice feature. If you’re looking at buying one or a few of these lights, I’ve been very happy with my purchase of this brand, and I gotta believe they are one of the better ones. No complaints at all.UPDATE (11/1/22): I can find no negatives to these lights, still; they are a godsend! So easy to use, as I said in my review above, the timer feature is as idiot-proof as anything I’ve seen in an electronics product. The battery wear is as I noted previously, they are quite efficient.Basically, after allowing some time to observe these lights in carved pumpkins, nothing has changed from my first impression - you can’t go wrong with this brand. Simple to use; turn ‘em on, set the timer (for one of four settings - 2 hr, 4 hr, 6 hr, 8 hr), set with a single push of a single button on the remote control provided, which also allows you to switch between “Light” and “Candle” (the pics I’ve included are all in “Candle” Mode), and there is also two buttons (‘+’ & ‘-‘) for Dimmer Control - and forget about everything except enjoying your Halloween Lights!
