For the price, I wasn't expecting any great level of packaging, but 50 ICs tossed loosely in a box was just a surprise. Additionally, they shipped the small, thin cardboard box in a standard bubble envelope.Unsurprisingly, given the above information:6 had bent pins that were easy to straighten with a pin straightener.1 had a pin bent almost flat against the bottom of the IC. While I straightened it, that pin is creased, and not really trustworthy for breadboard work.I tested the ICs in a simple astable mode circuit. 2 chips failed to operate at all. Though, for what it's worth, neither dead IC was one of the ones with bent pins. A 4% dead IC rate is actually about average for this price point. So, if it were not for all the bent pins, this would have earned another star. Overall, for cheap prototyping or classroom use, these are a cheap solution - so long as you have the tools to repair the pins. Otherwise, I spend a few more dollars for a better quality control.
